I could kick myself for not plowing and planting the potatoes a week ago. It has been raining - a soaking spring rain - causing the fields to become sticky ook. The potatoes are shriveling in the back of the truck. Oops.
I'm trying to keep busy with other things. It is cold again so maybe we will get back on our winter schedule. Feeding my misery with zenzai, a soup of azuki beans cooked in sugar with blobs of melted mochi floating in it- you have to be really cold to love it. In spite of all the sugar, I keep telling my expanding waistline - it has protein in it!
