My mother-in-law wanted 200 onion sets to plant but we could only obtain 100- I guess we were too late. So the row was tilled with the mini-tiller and the little bulb onions were laid in neat rows.
A big rain and windstorm kept us up most of the night and I think all of my herbicide efforts were in vain - every weed, weed seed and cousin of the weed seem to be flourishing after this most recent deluge. I wanted to go out and tackle it but my hand hurts so I stayed indoors. I decided I would resurrect my old computer files to work on a final journal project only to discover that the storage disk was fried when the house was hit by lightning. I found a couple floppies and was able to get the text off of those but I have lost 12 years of my life - mostly documents and letters during the house building and child rearing years. I am absolutely sick about it. I can empathize more than ever with people who have lost everything in a fire or floor or tornado - as if my brain is going to be able to recall those memories.
On a bright note - my order of LED holiday lights came and I am starting to get those creative urges to decorate. Now I really have to weed the garden!
