We are getting frost in the early mornings. The house is freezing cold because I never replaced the heavy winter curtains. It seems we will have to do with summer curtains and just wear sweaters this year. My husband curls up under the kotastu heated table and whimpers like a sad puppy.
There isn't much to do outdoors except harvest daikon and all the leafy greens. It all seems to grow at once. We are eating lots of spinach soup.
Since it was so cold and blustery, I put up the Christmas tree with the handmade balls and "crystal" bead ornaments that we made when Maya was sick. I don't have many decorations left, but we used the birds and ribbons to make a festive tree. Maya said, "Something's missing....there aren't any presents, Mom."
