Naturally crisped spinach

Who needs a salad crisper or some high tech tray in the refrigerator for crisping greens when you've got some snow! It must be hardy spinach because in spite of the cold snap, the spinach was salad ready in the garden - crisp and cold and perfect. I could've sat in the field and eaten right there. The Napa cabbage didn't fair as well. The cold caused it to turn brown and mushy -not too attractive. The turnips and daikon are nestled in the soil and could care less about the cold weather.
