Fire Alarm!
Weeeyouuuu! Weeeyouuuu! Like an air raid siren, the village PA system blasts a blood-curdling alarm at 3 am to either warn the living or wake the dead. Then a voice from the town hall comes on to say something like "everybody, this is to alert you that there is a small fire in a building in the town" I swear, they did not say which building or where. "It is not serious but a fire truck is being sent." Great- if it isn't serious and it isn't in my village, why do I need to know this? I hear one truck somewhere in the distance. Only one? Usually when there is a town fire, one truck from every village is sent to the scene. Was this fire in a wastebasket or something? Just start to doze off when a very loud bell rings over the loudspeakers. "Everyone, everyone! The fire has been put out and there is nothing to worry about." This was a lot of useless information that I didn't need to know. Just love the small town.
